Resilient systems.

Academic work by Harsh Singh, also published as Harsh Kumar Singh, on vehicle cybersecurity and trusted computing. My broader interests include Physical AI, machine perception, and autonomous mobility.

RESEARCH FOCUS

Security for a connected world

Vehicles increasingly depend on software, communication networks, and decisions made by embedded computers. Understanding their behavior requires attention to both the intelligence that interprets the world and the security of the systems that act within it.

The publications below address two related questions: who should be allowed to access a vehicle network, and how can a compromised vehicle computer recover? These are academic contributions in connected-vehicle security. My work with ETECHSTARS explores perception and intelligent mobility.

2024 · CONFERENCE PROCEEDING

Enabling Real-Time Restoration of Compromised ECU Firmware in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles

A defensive approach to restoring compromised electronic control unit (ECU) firmware. The work combines intrusion detection with recovery supported by trusted hardware, including ARM TrustZone and the flash translation layer. Its prototype was evaluated in a testbed simulating an in-vehicle environment.

Lecture Notes of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social-Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, volume 552, pages 15–33. Published February 5, 2024.

2024 · MASTER’S REPORT

Secure access control in Internet of Vehicle (IoV) with PoET

This report studies permission management for Internet of Vehicles (IoV) networks using Proof of Elapsed Time (PoET). It considers trusted execution environments and threats such as unauthorized access and data tampering.

M.S. in Computer Science, Michigan Technological University, 2024. Advisors: Bo Chen and Ronghua Xu. Committee member: Xinyu Lei.

The university record and abstract are public. The full report requires campus access.
